SUGAR FREE CREAM CHEESE BROWNIES
Confession time. Is there one bakery or restaurant you go to that you just can’t turn down dessert? For me, my weakness has always been baked goods is something about their baked goods that puts a smile on my face and fills my stomach (in a good way). And there is one dessert that has specifically stood out to me, cream cheese brownies. But did you know each brownie contains 440 calories? Well I knew I would have to find a way to make a cream cheese brownie that tasted just as delicious but was fewer in calories.
So here is my Bakery version impersonation healthy Sugar Free Cream Cheese brownie! And I promise they will make you feel like you’re eating a brownie straight from the bakery shop. These are exactly what you’d think, cream cheese swirling in between a nice fudgy, rich brownie. So how do we keep the calories down? By using my favorite, Lite and Sweet! They are replacing the sugar content, which is making it so much better with a lot less calorie. Eating dessert without gaining weight.
With this recipe you’ll be feeling like you’re eating brownies straight from a bakery without having the heavy feeling you normally get after consuming a sugary treats. And how could you not love that!
1 2/3 cups dark chocolate or carob chips
1 cup Lite&Sweet
1/3 cup butter, cut into pieces
2 tbsp water
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
¾ cup all-purpose flour
¼ tsp salt
Cream cheese topping
2 16 oz fat free cream cheese
1 Cup powdered Lite and Sweet
2 tbs lemon juice
Drizzle 1/4 Cup melted sugar free chocolate or carob chips
PREHEAT oven to 325º F. Grease 8-inch-square baking pan. Set aside 1/3 cup sugar free chocolate chips or carob chips
HEAT 1 1/3 cups chocolate or carob chips, Lite&Sweet, butter and water in small saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly, until chocolate and butter are melted. Pour into medium bowl. Stir in eggs, one at a time, with wire whisk until blended. Stir in vanilla extract. Add flour and salt; stir well.
BAKE for 38 to 40 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out slightly sticky. Cool in pan on wire rack.
Cream Cheese Topping
- Blend cream cheese and powder Lite&sweet until well incorporated.
- Add lemon juice and mix well.
- Pour over the cooled cake.
- Melt the 1/4 cup of chocolate in a microwave safe dish or in a pan over the stove with medium/low heat and add a little pinch or coconut oil, or water. After drizzle with a spoon over the cream cheese frosting going back and forth. Enjoy with your family and friends.
