Sugar-Free Chocolate Cups Dessert (Pot de Crème)
I’m sure I have mentioned my love for chocolate before. Which is why I had to share these chocolate dessert cups with you! Shocker right, another chocolate dessert, but I can’t help it. Anything with chocolate will make my day. And to make my day even better is when I find a chocolate dessert that is sugar free and quick to make with simple ingredients that you blend it all together and refrigerate. Seriously, it could turn my entire day to have a healthy, clean, rich dessert.
This recipe maintains its rich and creamy flavors while taking away some calories. How could you not love that? Plus, if you’re looking for an easy dessert to make this is it. For not a lot of work you’ll be getting a sweet and silky dessert. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve made this because it only takes me 5 minutes to prepare. And although it will need to set in the fridge for a few hours, the time that is actually put towards making it is minimal.Because of the easy preparation and the not long setting time in the mean while I have the chance to put together something else or just get my daily chores done. I usually prefer making something else, which just makes another mess, but cooking is so much more fun than doing anything else because of the reward to enjoy a great treat after all is ready.
I love finding recipes that are easy and delicious while being low in calories but high in flavor. This pot de crème is a delicious rich and smooth chocolate mousse that will become a favorite for all of those reasons. Use lite and sweet instead of your regular sugar and you’ve got yourself a healthy light dessert that is a crowd pleaser!
Enjoy it with fresh raspberries or a dab of sugar free whipping cream for a more beautiful well presented dessert.
Prep Time: 15 Minutes – Cook Time 5 Minutes – Serves 4
2/3 cup 1% milk
1 large egg
1/4 cup Lite&Sweet
Pinch of salt
1 cup sugar-free chocolate finely chopped
2 Tbsp. hazelnut extract or liqueur, such as frangelico (optional)
Whipped cream, for serving (optional)
In a small sauce pan, heat milk over moderate heat until it comes to a boil. Meanwhile, place egg, Lite&Sweet, salt, chocolate and hazelnut in the blender, pulse until chocolate are broken up. When milk boils removed from heat and add to blender on low and drizzle the hot milk though the lid opening. Blend about 1 minute or until smooth. Pour into four or five serving cups. Refrigerate for 3-4 hour. Before serving add whipped cream if desired.
