Best Gluten Free Desserts

School is starting and we are getting into full swing, but right around the corner we have the last holiday to end summer. Labor Day weekend for our family is always a huge family and friends get together at our house. We BBQ outdoors and enjoy the day in the sun playing sports, talking, swimming and getting one last bronze before fall approaches. For our family and friends we make lots of easy finger foods like a platter of cheese, nuts, fruits and vegetables for starters, then we grill some healthy meats and serve with a big summer salad. We end the gathering celebration with homemade healthy sugar free desserts I make a day ahead of time. I always choose a few different flavor desserts to make sure it will please all of our guests. I also consider peoples diets and especially pay attention to anyones food allergy. Our friend has a gluten allergy so when we have parties or get together with them, I always keep that in mind so I do’t have to leave anyone out. These three desserts are perfect and works great together when wanting to serve a variety of flavors. They are also excellent stand alone recipes, enjoyable and satisfying.

Gluten Free Apple Pie Recipe

Growing up Apple Pie was always my mothers favorite dessert to make. I can still remember the good smell of fresh baked apple pie most Sundays in our home. I wanted to recreate our family favorite in a gluten free apple pie version. This recipe is made with easy roll out gluten free crust, that when made is perfectly browned and flakey. I also keep the same tradition as a regular pie but making it better with no sugar, I instead use Lite and Sweet a wonderful natural sweeter. It’s no difference in taste and baking when you use Lite and Sweet. The pie turns out very good in color, flavor and shape. Make sure to serve with a sugar free whipped cream or sugar free ice cream on the side. It’s a year round must have pie.

 Flourless Chocolate Cake Recipe

The Second dessert I love to make is anything chocolate, but since we are eliminating the gluten this recipe does the trick satisfying everyone sweet and chocolate tooth. I first had a flourless chocolate cake at a very nice stake house in town. I really loved the taste and especially how rich and light it is without flour. Immediately when I came home I searched for how many calories are in such a dessert and I its between 300 to 400 calories per slice of flourless chocolate cake. Most of the calories come from the sugar and in that case I thought I could change that but going sugar free and adding Lite and Sweet instead. I made this cake for family dinners, for the ABC show Good Things Utah morning segment, for ladies group and work parties. Everyone absolutely loves the taste and can’t believe is gluten free flourless and sugar free. It has a great rich chocolate taste because I choose good unsweetened cocoa powder to make the batter,  and when I use the ganash topping I choose sugar free good quality chocolate as well. You can search the blog for the sugar free ganash recipe it accompany great with this cake. I also like to pair with a dob of sugar free whipping cream or sugar free vanilla ice cream making it a great better than restaurant dessert. If you never made a flourless chocolate cake before you going to want to try this recipe. It’s incredibly tasting rich and light guiltless dessert.

Sugar Free Raspberry Coconut Lime Cream Torte Recipe

The last dessert I like making for summer is this Sugar Free Raspberry Coconut Lime Cream Torte. It is sweet, and tangy with a creamy filling,  while at the same time being chocolaty crunchy crust. This recipe uses a combination of fruits that taste and work well together delivering a perfect combination of flavor and textures in each bite. I easily made the crust with dates, unsweetened cocoa powder, almonds, and Lite and Sweet sweetener. The filing is a touch of unflavored gelatin, coconut cream, raspberry and lime. This recipe is allergy friendly, gluten free, lactose free and sugar free. Its all in one good dessert in so many levels. I love how creamy and bursting with fresh summery flavor this recipe delivers. Don’t be afraid of the mouth full name it easy two make with only two steps and no bake. Its colorful sweet treat that everyone will love.
